Northbounders

Northbounders refer to thru-hikers traveling north. The direction that you choose to travel will have a major impact on the experience that you have on the trail. Thru-hiking one of the longest trail systems, such as the Pacific Crest Trail, puts you at the starting point early in the season and at your final destination near the end of the season. For The PCT / Pacific Crest Trail and AT / Appalachian Trail, most thru-hikers choose northbound because of the more favorable weather conditions as you move through the season.
