Trail Legs

Trail legs refers the level of fitness thru-hikers develop after the first two to four weeks on the trail during a thru-hike. During this initial break in and conditioning process of your body adapting to doing lots of trail miles day after day, your legs gain strength and have less sore muscles, which means you have gotten your trail legs. Backpackers that have gotten their trail legs can do more miles than they could previously.
